This analysis of high purity cathode copper was conducted by Glow-Discharge Mass Spectrometry (GDMS), which allows microanalysis of all elements. The result indicates the ultra-purity of the copper, proving that the quantities of all elements other than copper are below the detection limit. It is well known that ultra-high-purity metals possess very unique natures sharply different from those of ordinary metals. 6N high purity cathode copper is a clear pink. The 6N copper has very large crystal grains and such as low recrystallization temperature that it becomes softer at normal temperatures. The 6N copper is adopted as a reference material for analysis, It is also used for fundamental research into material deformation behavior utilizing migration velocity of dislocations (linear lattice defects).
